Job Description

The Business Intelligence Manager leads analytics and IT teams to engage in sophisticated analyses,  including the development of analytics for driving better decisions on buying, pricing, promotions effectiveness, revenue management, marketing, supply chain, and operations. The role is expected to provide timely, accurate and informative analytics used to assist management in making business decisions. The Business Intelligence Manager is proficient in advanced statistical methods and/or optimization techniques, data mining and simulation.  Additionally, the Business Intelligence will manage the local information technology team, with functional support from the corporate IT team.

Essential Functions

Data Analysis

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and “clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  • Work in collaboration with external data providers
  • Obtain market related data for the purpose of developing strategic analysis
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Communicate results and provide suggestions to end users

Systems Management

  • Through an analysis of needs (local and corporate) drive implementation, change or addition of information systems required to provide the reporting required
  • Develop a solid working knowledge of the appropriate systems in order to optimize performance and transmit knowledge within the organization
  • Manage the local IT team, with functional support from the corporate IT team

Department Management

  • Serves on the USA Management Team
  • Conducts all recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating of department staff members.
  • Establishes and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's objectives and to support our financial reporting environment.
  • Continuously improves the department’s function, including the development of staff by providing effective coaching and feedback as well as appropriate delegation to staff members


  • Supports the company vision and mission, and demonstrates the corporate core values in all professional activities
  • Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules and regulations
  • Compiles and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Follows systems and procedures outlined in company manuals
  • Maintains departmental housekeeping standards
  • All other duties as requested by management


Job Requirements


Formal Education and Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree required in information technology, applied math, statistics, business; master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in designing and devising analytics
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with business requirement, high-level functional designs, ETL data mapping specification designs, data feed specifications and data analysis
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading and coaching a team.
  • Expert-level experience utilizing Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with CRM, Sales Cubes, or other central reporting systems a plus.
  • Proven ability to execute analysises with speed and a high degree of accuracy
  • Proven ability in applying theoretical knowledge to practical applications, data analysis, algorithmic prototyping, and data visualizations
